Gender-equal or gender-blind? Rethinking Yugoslavia’s labour migration policy by Mato Bošnjak

Yugoslavia’s post‑war labour migration has long been recognised as a defining feature of the country’s development, but its gendered dimensions remain insufficiently examined. This blog post asks whether the Yugoslav state’s management of labour migration stood in striking contrast to its domestic policies of gender equality and women’s emancipation.
